Director of Partnerships, Internet Archive
Wendy Hanamura joined the Internet Archive in 2014 as the Director of Partnerships, where she builds strong strategic alliances around content, policy, and organizational support. Building on a career in journalism and non-profit media, Hanamura uses her storytelling skills to share the remarkable stories locked in the Internet Archive’s 20 petabytes of digital collections. Previously, as Chief Digital Officer of KCETLink and Link TV, Hanamura led diverse teams producing television series, apps, a semantic platform for global development videos, international film contests and documentaries—all in the service of social change. Hanamura began her career in journalism as a photo editor for Time magazine. She’s reported and produced television content around the world for CBS, World Monitor Television, NHK (Japanese Broadcasting Corporation), and PBS. Hanamura graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University and she was a Rotary International Fellow at the University of Tokyo, studying architecture with Fumihiko Maki.
